Last Saturday, the "dream team" of TAS Life company spent the day at the international summit dedicated to medical tourism. Our company was also the main sponsor of this event. Therefore, we had planned not only to listen to others but also to showcase ourselves. More specifically, to introduce the attendees to the "Doctor TAS" program.

You had the opportunity to witness the excellent presentation by Natalia Stykhalska and the prize giveaways from our company in a live broadcast if you happened to visit our Facebook page on Saturday (by the way, it's a great reason to follow and subscribe to our page ;) ).
For those who missed all the exciting moments on Saturday, a link to the live stream will be available at the end of this blog post.
We can only say that Natalia's speech sparked considerable interest and lively discussion among our listeners. Such a reaction is truly gratifying and demonstrates that the "Doctor TAS" program is highly relevant and has significant potential.

We also took the opportunity to introduce our partner, the charitable foundation "Tabletochky".
We extend our gratitude to everyone who participated in this good cause by purchasing branded merchandise or making a charitable contribution to support children with cancer. All the funds collected have already been transferred to the representatives of the foundation.

Let's take a moment to talk about the organizers of the summit - the International Association of Medical Tourism Physicians (IAMTP), founded in 2012.

The association consists of physicians from various specialties, as well as healthcare organizers, representatives from tour operators, insurance and assistance companies. Currently, the association has nearly 3,000 members, and this number continues to grow.
IAMTP's main focus is to enhance public awareness of medical tourism opportunities. This includes conducting seminars, conferences, and presentations in the medical field, as well as organizing informational tours for physicians and medical agents to clinics and rehabilitation centers worldwide.
This summit marked the second successful event organized by the association and took place in a friendly and informal networking atmosphere, encouraging lively discussions and active participation.
The event brought together over 120 participants from 10+ countries worldwide, including Belarus, Hungary, Germany, India, Israel, Latvia, Poland, Serbia, the United States, Turkey, and, of course, Ukraine.
Among the attendees, we saw thought leaders and key figures in medical tourism, including association members, partners from different countries, clinic managers, physicians, tour operators, medical tourism agents, insurance companies, medical associations, and the press.
Now, let's discuss what Ukrainian medicine has to offer in the field of medical tourism
We are delighted to inform you that we have all the prerequisites for successful medical tourism development. These include cutting-edge medical advancements and expertise highly sought after in the global market, highly skilled professionals, convenient infrastructure, and facilities capable of providing these services. Patients from Europe, the United Kingdom, Israel, the United States, and even the Emirates and Asia have become frequent visitors to Ukrainian clinics. Currently, the most popular medical tourism directions in Ukraine include infertility treatment, cardiovascular diseases, dentistry, and oncology.
Furthermore, the cost of medical services in Ukraine is significantly lower compared to the cost of similar treatments in other countries.
With great interest, we listened to presentations from representatives of Ukrainian clinics and medical centers regarding the opportunities their institutions offer in the field of medical tourism.
We would particularly like to highlight the Ukrainian Tomotherapy Center located in Kropyvnytskyi. It is the first and only center in the country that provides tomotherapy, the most precise, effective, and gentle method of treating oncological tumors.

We were also impressed by the level of service and the qualifications of the physicians presented by the representative of the Heart Life Hospital, a medical center established in collaboration with the renowned Amosov Center, known worldwide.
The specialization of the Heart Life Hospital includes cardiovascular surgery, cardiology, rheumatology, orthopedics, and traumatology.

Who are medical tourism agents and why are they called "cats"?
Seeking medical treatment abroad poses a complex issue for patients, especially for those who plan to travel abroad for the first time and are not proficient in a foreign language.
Which medical center is the best to approach?
What documents are required to be collected?
What special conditions and discounts are provided for medical tourists?
How to organize transportation, accommodation, and treatment abroad?
The answers to these and many other questions are provided by medical tourism agents who act as intermediaries in communicating with foreign hospitals, clinics, surgeons, and airlines. Agreeably, this assistance during a challenging period of life is invaluable, and it is fortunate that Ukrainian patients now have someone to turn to!

What else did we learn at this summit?
The main message is that modern healthcare doesn't stop at the borders of a single country; it becomes international. Medical tourism is gaining increasing popularity worldwide with each passing year. The main clients of this industry remain unchanged, with the United States and Eastern countries (particularly China and the UAE) being the most promising destinations for the development of medical tourism at present.
So, which countries do Americans travel to for medical treatment? The top five destinations include India, Malaysia, Thailand, Turkey, and Costa Rica.
The main reasons for medical tourism are evident: the cost of treatment and the availability of highly skilled professionals and specialized expertise in specific countries and clinics.
The most popular among medical tourists from the United States are:
- cosmetic surgeries
- dentistry
- cardiovascular surgeries
- orthopedic surgeries
- cancer treatments
- reproductive treatments
- weight loss procedures
- scans, tests, second opinion consultations, and various health screenings, including check-ups.
By the way, the topic of check-ups received a lot of attention at the summit, once again highlighting the importance of this diagnostic method in everyone's life.
And here's some good news: we, Ukrainians, are very fortunate in this regard. The cost of check-ups in our country is significantly lower compared to Europe, while the level of service provision is practically the same. Let's compare: the average cost of a check-up in Ukraine (using the example of the "INGO" clinic) is €102, while in Turkey and Latvia it costs €550, in Israel - €1000, and in Germany, a check-up can cost up to €2900...

So why shouldn't Ukrainians take advantage of this wonderful opportunity and take care of their own health?
According to global statistics, annual check-ups have already allowed for a 50% reduction in mortality from various illnesses.
What can we say in conclusion?
As you can see, the summit was filled with a wealth of information, and we tried to share the main themes and insights with you.
We greatly hope for fruitful cooperation with all the specialists we had the wonderful opportunity to meet and who were interested in our "Doctor TAS"!
We look forward to the next meeting at the third summit!
