Who Needs Sports Insurance and Why?
Sports insurance is an insurance policy designed to protect individuals and organizations involved in sports, including athletes, sports clubs, event organizers, and others connected with the sports industry. Its purpose is to provide financial protection against injuries and accidents that may occur during sports activities.
Sports insurance is available for both children from the age of 5 and adults up to 69 years old. Whether you or your child participate in sports professionally or recreationally, an insurance policy provides additional protection against injuries and accidents that may occur during training or competitions.
What Does Sports Insurance Cover?
Sports insurance may include various types of protection, such as medical expenses, rehabilitation costs after injuries, compensation for temporary disability, and more.
TAS life Sports Insurance covers more than 170 types of injuries and 120 related illnesses. The policy also provides compensation for ambulance services and benefits for infectious diseases. Additional medical services may vary depending on the selected insurance plan.
TAS life offers three plans for both professional and amateur athletes:
- I want to try
- Optimal
- Maximum
The I Want to Try plan provides insurance benefits in the event of injuries, online doctor consultations, war risk coverage, and psychological consultations.
The Optimal plan includes coverage for both injuries and illnesses, online doctor consultations, war risk coverage, and psychological consultations.
The Maximum plan includes all the benefits of the previous plans, plus additional ambulance compensation.
The list of benefits is identical for amateur and professional athletes. The only difference is the monthly premium, which is slightly higher for professional athletes.
The insured amount depends on the selected plan and may be UAH 50,000, UAH 75,000, or UAH 100,000.
TAS Life Sports Insurance also provides protection against war-related risks. Benefits are available for injuries resulting from grenade explosions, landmines, missile fragments, or drone attacks.
Does Sports Insurance Apply Only During Competitions?
Sports insurance terms may vary depending on the insurance policy, agreement with the insurance company, and the specific needs of the athlete or sports organization.
However, TAS Life provides coverage both during sports competitions and regular training sessions.
If an insured event occurs, notify TAS Life using the method most convenient for you—through our website, chatbot, or by phone. After your notification is processed, you will receive a list of the required documents needed to submit your claim. Once a complete and accurate set of documents has been received, your insurance benefit will be paid within 24 hours.
