The full-scale Russian invasion has forced nearly 5 million Ukrainians to become refugees. In European countries, the number of Ukrainians who have received temporary protection status has reached over 4.75 million people.
Among them are TAS life Clients. Of course, we are unable to track the movements and current whereabouts of all our Clients, but we only need to look at the statistics of requests to our Contact Center:
- "How do I make insurance premiums while abroad?"
- "I am not in Ukraine, how do I receive an insurance payment?"
- "Does my insurance contract work in other countries of the world?"
And a special place is occupied by the question "Do I need my life insurance policy abroad?"
We decided to answer it in detail in this blog and help those who are now forced to be far from home.

1. Compensation in case of injury or illness
If you are a policyholder under the TAS-Life, TAS-Junior, TAS-Pension or Formula Zdorovya programs, this means that in the event of an injury or illness that is covered, the insurance company will pay you financial compensation even if you are abroad.
A nuance to be reminded of - documents issued to you by a foreign medical institution will need to be translated into Ukrainian and notarized/at the Ukrainian embassy before sending them with a claim application.
It is also worth noting that with temporary protection status, the country that receives internally displaced persons also provides them with medical insurance, under which they can receive the necessary treatment. However, financial assistance from TAS life, which you can spend at your own discretion, will never be superfluous.
You can always contact us and consult on your insurance case, the amount of possible compensation, the necessary documents, etc.
2. Investment in currency
This option will be of interest to holders of Currency Insurance Contracts.
We remind those who do not have such Contracts that, thanks to the currency license that TAS Life received in January 2020, our Clients have the opportunity to enter into Contracts and receive payments in foreign currency. In addition, they can enter into Contracts with a peg to the currency.
On February 24 of this year, to stabilize the financial market of Ukraine, the official non-cash exchange rate of the dollar was fixed at 29.25 hryvnia. Accordingly, all non-cash currency transactions also take place at the fixed rate. While on the cash market there are no restrictions on setting the rate, and on the day of writing the article it was around 37 hryvnia.
The difference between buying a dollar at the cash and non-cash exchange rate is significant.
Therefore, if you are abroad, but continue to work remotely in Ukraine and receive your salary in hryvnia on your card, pay contributions under the Contract from this card - and save on the difference in rates ;)

3. "Post-Victory" Capital
One day, what every Ukrainian dreams of will happen - we will defeat the enemy - and then we will be able to return to our peaceful dreams and plans, or we will start building new ones. The accumulated money will definitely not be superfluous.
Therefore, as financial advisors, we can give the following recommendation: if you have closed your primary needs for food, housing, work, etc., and you have the opportunity to continue paying the savings part of the Insurance Contract - do so.
Hard times will definitely pass, and you will thank yourself today for such a decision.
Let's hold on and bring our Victory together!
